Have used BodyView Southampton for VO2 Max testing in the past and decided now I'm retired to book a DEXA scan to check out my visceral fat levels and body composition as I age. Booking was straight forward with a simple questionnaire to fill in to explain your reasons for booking. On the day I was met promptly by Cait who sat me down to confirm my goals and explain the testing process. The scan itself only took 3 mins after which Cait walked me through all the figures and imaging results ensuring I understood each part. This has got to be the simplest way to gauge your body composition and with the explanations from the consultant receive advice on restorative action where necessary. Fortunately overall my results were very positive but did show a muscle imbalance which I can now focus on. If you want to know more about your body composition then a DEXA scan at BodyView is highly recommended.

Jenna is awesome! She did my dexa scan. We had a good laugh with it and she was very informative when explaining my results.

Really good experience, everything is done at your pace, the scan is quick and simple and then the results are explained fully. Provides a really helpful insight into the state of your health and what areas you need to focus on. Will definitely do a follow up scan in the future.

Ashley did my scan today . He was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He took time to explain the process step by step and was very thorough in his explanation of my results. I recommend BodyView Bristol for your DEXA bone scan. Lilly was very professional. I had no symptoms but just wanted to check my bone density, age 64, and was very glad I did. The results have enabled me to plan resistance and weight training as well as look into dietary changes to try and improve my score. I will be returning next year for a check up.

I had my DEXA and body composition scan at BodyView in Southampton on 19 August 2026, with Cait. Afterwards, I wished I'd done it years ago. All I had to do was lie on a comfortable scan bed, in my own clothes, for ten minutes. The building is new, smart and modern, and there's coffee, fruit and comfortable sofas in the waiting room. Cait, who carried out my scan, was absolutely lovely. I got to see inside my own body — bone, muscle and fat. It was clearly explained to me that I need to add some muscle and lose a little fat. I'd stopped weight training and started eating too much after hurting my leg two years ago, and because I could actually see my body, I couldn't ignore it any more. I now understand what the numbers, measurements and scores mean, and I'll be going back every year to check on my progress. I left feeling calm and encouraged, knowing I can do something about this. I wouldn't have known any of it had I not gone — it's so much more than a DEXA scan with numbers. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone, at whatever age. It's never too late. Great service and good value for money, and I was very reassured by Cait. Thank you so much.

He took the time to explain the whole DEXA scan process clearly, what the results mean, and how we can use the information to make a plan to improve our body composition and overall health.
