In addition to diet and exercise, there are many different factors that can play a role in your weight changes.

Fat is often the area most people will want to target when starting their weight loss journey but it can be extremely difficult to understand how to increase fat burning, quickly and easily. To help get you started, here are some of the best ways to burn fat quickly and start seeing the improvements you’re after.

High-protein diet

There are many experts that recommend following a low calorie, high-protein diet for weight loss, and, in this case, we have to agree. Including high-quality protein sources in your diet is an effective way to burn more fat and lessen your appetite. We’re not suggesting cutting out the other two macronutrients – carbohydrates and fat – but simply ensuring you’re going above and beyond to reach over the general rule of 20% protein in your diet.

Build up on fibre!

By loading up on high-fibre foods, you may help protect your body against fat accumulation. One study showed a link between a 10-gram increase in daily soluble fibre intake to a 3.7% lower risk of gaining belly fat over a five-year period. Luckily, foods high in fibre are also the “good” ones, including fruits, vegetables, nuts, and whole grains.

Strength training

Strength training is all about contracting your muscles against resistance, hence why it is sometimes referred to as resistance training. Strength training has been reported to help you burn just as much fat, or more, than cardio. In addition, as opposed to cardio, this type of training will tone your muscles, making your physique tighter in appearance.

You may have spent months and months getting to your ideal, healthy body weight, with countless gym sessions under your belt whilst also wilfully pulling yourself away from the sugary treats in the supermarket. You did good!

But, have you ever noticed that no one ever seems to tell you what happens AFTER all that hard work?  Yes, reaching that healthy is great but it’s only one side of it. How are you actually suppose to maintain it?

How to keep a healthy weight

A lot of varying factors will affect your weight. Some of these include your age, gender, lifestyle, sleep and even genetics! Unfortunately, some of these factors will have a say in how easy (or hard) you’ll find it to both lose weight and keep it off. There’s no hesitation though: maintaining a healthy weight is essential for your health and wellbeing. It can also help lower your risk of certain diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes.

To help keep you focused on maintaining your current body weight, make sure to keep on track of the following:

Find the right in and out balance

It’s simple: to maintain your body weight, you need to burn the same calories that you eat or drink. These don’t need to be exact each and every day, but as long as you are actively keeping this in mind, you should quickly find the right balance for you and your activity level.

Choose the right foods

Creating meal plans with nutrient-dense foods from different food groups will only have positive effects on maintaining your body weight and overall health. Don’t worry, choosing foods that are high in nutritional value doesn’t mean having to sacrifice your joy of eating.

The old saying of 5 a day should not be ignored either!

Drink plenty of water

Along with exercising regularly and eating a well-balanced diet, drinking water should be at the top of your priority list. Some of the benefits of drinking plenty of water include helping your body burn more calories and being calorie-free itself. Much better than that can of Coke!
